The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) plans to host a meeting in the spring of 2013, joining together a diverse group of young people (18 - 25 years old) in long-term recovery from substance abuse. The Center's staff is seeking a group of ambitious young people in recovery to join this cohort. The purpose of this meeting is for young people from around the country to join together and collaborate on ideas for outreach campaigns and best practices for educating America's youth on substance abuse and recovery in different populations.
Statements will be reviewed and participants will be selected by a team off Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) staff. The statement should be no more than one page, one paragraph biography and a second paragraph describing their interest in this meeting. An example of what a personal statement could look like is linked below. Keep in mind, this is only an example and applicants are encouraged to be creative in designing their personal statement.
